I paid my dues for bravely ignoring the
Warning Virus Spreading - Enter at Your Own Risk
signs at Facility. I’m now recovering from said bug. Mom is, too. For the second time. Yep, in less than two weeks, she has already been sick twice. Hopefully, this will be the end of it for our family and Facility will be rid of it soon, too.

I have mixed emotions about placing her there. I still believe that Facility is the best place in this area. I get along well with most of the people who work there and they seem personable enough.

However, there is just no way she will get the one on one care she received at home. For instance, they don’t really have time to take people to the bathroom who may or may not do anything. So this leaves Mom in diapers, even though at home she was using the commode quite a bit. I understand, but it makes me feel funny. Does my Mom care? I don’t know. Probably not.

Mom seems more aware of things since the latest med change and when I told her I was sick on Friday, she became concerned and said, “I will come to you.” Meaning she would take care of me. Considering the fact that she has rarely shown any concern for anyone in the past year, it was very moving. Then when I was leaving she asked, “When will I get to take care of you?” I told her I would be back soon and left.

She told me one day that someone had taken her house.

She is never mean to me anymore. In fact, she is becoming very clingy and is always very happy to see me. It’s like something clicked in her mind and she thinks she blew it and wants to take it all back and come home.

I went and got her this morning for church and we spent the day together again. She was compliant, but I know she isn’t well because she didn’t eat much. We took a nap together before I took her back earlier this evening. Once again, it was difficult to leave her.

I have a dentist appointment tomorrow and a job interview on Thursday. I sure hope I get this job. I guess I’ll find out pretty soon.

As I was moving Mom into Facility, my friend was having some serious problems of her own. After enjoying a luncheon out with a neighbor, she was suddenly doubled over with pain from her stomach. She was rushed to the hospital and lots of tests were run. Finally it was determined that something was wrong with her pancreas, but the cause remains a mystery. However, while they were checking her out, it was discovered that she had a lump on her breast and a biopsy was performed. She had cancer and went into surgery the next day (this is after a week of lying in the hospital with tests being done). Fortunately, it appears they were able to get it all and she won’t have to have chemotherapy. She is back home now and hopefully will have a speedy recovery. She is not too thrilled with the fact that a cause of the pancreatic attack wasn’t found and not anxious for a rerun.

Mark 2:17 When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
