Reluctantly I looked over my goals for last year to see how I had done. My list:
1.Lose weight.
I have been walking for two years now, but I lost less weight this year than last year. Or possibly
I gained back what little I may have lost. Whatever - I’m still fat.
SCORE=0
2.Read the Bible and pray MORE.
This didn’t happen.
SCORE=0
3. Start a Bible study with Carole.
I did start a Bible Study with Carole, but she had one excuse after the other every time we were
supposed to meet. I finally gave up. Then we started going to a church sponsored Bible Study for
awhile, but haven’t been since Thanksgiving. The people are very nice, but I don’t feel like I’m
learning or growing there. I am doing Hebrews videos from Foundation Bible College, but not
with Carole. So technically, I did START a Bible study with Carole, but I still don’t think I can
count this as reaching a goal.
SCORE=1/2
4. Get the Alpha One test.
Finally, here’s one I did! I got the test and it came back negative. I’m not afflicted or a carrier.
SCORE=1
5. Make a budget (or rather-quit wasting money).
Ummm... I spent less, but have not quit wasting money.
SCORE=0
6. Grow closer to the Lord.
I think this one happens in spite of my own doings. He is so good to me and takes such loving
care of my family. Each day brings me one day closer to actually being in His presence. With
Him holding me in His hand, how could I not grow closer?
SCORE= hmmm can one earn points in this case?
7. Include my sister more often in activities.
I did invite my sister to go out with Carole and me and she did - once. I invited her several more
times, but she declined. I extended the hand of friendship to her, so feel I somewhat reached my
objective here.
SCORE=3/4
TOTAL= 2 1/4 out of a possible 7
So let’s see. Not very impressive results. I wonder if I should even bother making a new list.
Okay, twist my arm. Here goes.
1. Lose weight. :-)
2. Set up a specific schedule for Bible Study and stick to it.
3. Get Mom settled into her new place.
4. Get a job.
5. Find a place to live.
6. Get a new cell phone plan.
7. Forgive the 4 people I am harboring ill feelings toward. I want to, I really do. Unforgiveness
only hurts the one clinging to it!
I like this list. At least half of these things will be unavoidable. *smile*
1 Chronicles 4:10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me
indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep
me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.
