Even though I didn’t get enough sleep last night, this morning things were moving along right on schedule for me to
get to a Caregiving Seminar on time. Mom even gave me little resistance getting up and going. So, I’m happily
driving along and get stuck behind a garbage truck going 10 mph under the speed limit for about 15 miles. I
entertained myself by zigzagging back and forth behind it like a race car driver does when they are doing the slow
laps.
I pulled into the parking lot and tried to hurry Mom along. I can’t say I actually ran to the building where the
seminar was being held, but I was moving fast enough to set my pantyhose on fire.
I learned a few things and got to ask some legal questions.
I ran into two friends from my support group and we enjoyed lunch together in the VA’s canteen.
I’m glad I went.

The snipers that have been picking people off one by one in the DC area all month were apprehended this morning.
Police seized the weapon that was linked to all but three of the fourteen shootings. Ten people were killed and three
wounded, with one known miss. The suspects are John Allen Muhammad, 41, a Gulf War Army veteran recognized
as an expert marksman, and 17-year-old John Lee Malvo, a Jamaican citizen. It’s very disconcerting to know
someone my son’s age was involved in these terrorizing and savage acts. A motive hasn’t been declared yet.
Hopefully the killings will stop now.

The Giants and the Angels are tied 2-2 in the World Series games, but game five just started and already the Giants
are up 6-0 in the 2nd inning. Boo. Hiss. Come on, Angels! Go. Go. Go.
