Mom was in a wonderful mood today and we had such a good time together. I guess taking her off the Memantine has proved beneficial. I was slightly worried that I had not given it enough of a try, but it really seems like it was detrimental to her. She is happy again and that is all we can hope for at this point.

Happy Mom

She was yammering away today, not making any sense and I asked her if she would like a cup of coffee. She made some nonsensical noises and I asked her again, looking into her eyes and she replied, “Sure!”

“Well, okay then!” I replied and we both laughed.

She ate all of her snacks and drank all of her drinks. In fact, she barely even paced around my house at all today. She sat in the kitchen and then she sat with me on the couch. I just now realized how much more relaxed she was today.

Chris and Mom

She had her usual fun with Tana. Oh yes, Tana. Once again she has a hematoma in her ear. *sigh* She has to wear the dreaded e-collar again, too.

I was getting her groomed on the same day that Chris found the ‘bubble’ in her ear and for some reason they cut off all her hair. She looks so pitiful all shaved and wearing the e-collar. Poor pitiful Tana.

Tana

hairless and wounded

Last time this happened she had a double ear infection and one of her eardrums was covered with hardened wax. This time her ears look fine and the hematoma was much smaller than before. Chris had found it earlier last time, too, but we didn’t know if it was a reaction to a bug bite or what. Sooo…. by the time I took her to the vet it was quite large.

It’s a good thing we have Chris around. Tana’s ears might fall off before I’d ever notice anything. Anyway, she has an appointment in the morning for a bandage change and a recheck. I am encouraged by the healthier condition of her ears in general and the vet said it was a mild hematoma this time.

Work has been terribly busy and is likely to stay that way for the next few weeks. It does make the time pass faster. I think I have done enough of an attitude adjustment to properly appreciate my job. For now, anyway. Until the next time I have a breakdown. *smile*

Church was great today even though the pastor was jumping around all over the place (in the Word, that is).

He told a terrific story about a flight he took one year to the west coast. He was seated beside a man wearing a yarmulke. The man was reading a leather bound volume written in Hebrew that looked like a bible. My pastor asked the man if he was reading a bible of some sort. The man answered that he was reading the writings of the prophet Isaiah. My pastor opened his Bible and read several verses of Isaiah 53. He asked the man if those words were written in his book, as well.

“Yes,” the man replied, “I have those words in my book.”

“Who is this person that God is talking about in these verses?” queried my pastor.

“Well, I don’t know!” came the quick reply.

My pastor went on to tell the man all about Jesus. The Jesus that these verses are about. He told him of the fulfillment of the prophetic words.

The man listened intently and said he had never heard any of that before. He went on to explain his own beliefs. However, the truth of the Savior is planted in his mind and one day he may decide to study about it more.

We never know what seeds we plant and how they may grow. What we do know is a promise that just happens to appear in Isaiah:

Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
