April 26, 2000

I have basically skipped two months of writing. For some
reason I started to become apathetic and just blew it off. A
friend from the IRC told me she came here with her
daughter and read the entries and gave me a few
encouraging words. This caused me to go back and reread
my entries, shed a few tears and get back to writing.
        *smile*
Quite a few things have happened since I last wrote.
In March my friend, Cathy came to see me .... bringing
along her oldest child, Amanda, their dog, Tanya, and
Chris’s best friend from Norfolk, Timothy Parker. It was so
wonderful to see them. I miss my friends so very much. I
could talk to Cathy forever... she is the kind of friend you
can share everything with.... so sweet, kind, and loving.
They had some problems with their dog and she was
bringing her to live with us. She gets along better with
adults than young children. The time passed too quickly
and they headed out. A couple of hours later my relatives
        pulled up.
My Aunt Peggy, Uncle Jack, and Aunt Patty came to
visit for a couple of days. We all had a great time. My
mom knew her brother and sister, but didn’t seem to
remember her brother’s wife. My mom kept flirting with
her brother! She loves men and just pours on the charm
whenever one is near. It was funny. We played cards and
I thoroughly enjoyed the company. They seemed to think
my mom was happy and didn’t have a care in the world. I
think they were more concerned about me, which I found
quite touching. It’s nice to know someone cares.
Chris has finished Driver’s Ed now and he did really
well. We were both quite pleased about that. Now he is
just waiting to turn 16 in June so he can get his license. We
went out to lunch today at Cracker Barrel and then went
shopping. I’d like to do something special with him every
Wednesday while he still enjoys my company. He sees
humor in almost everything and always manages to keep
        me laughing.
Josh graduated from the second half of his tech school
today. He worked very hard and managed to excel in
some very difficult courses. Now he has to take about 3
weeks of another class because he is going to be stationed
at Nellis AFB. After this, he gets to come home for about
ten days! I am so excited! He sent me a nice Easter card
with a real sweet letter. I can’t wait to get my arms around
        him again!
My friend, Karen Jenners, had a baby boy on Easter Sunday.
His name is Luke and he is a special blessing to both of
his parents. Can't wait to meet him! I got to hear him
        squeal over the phone, though.
Today would have been my father’s birthday were
he still living. Mom and I went to the graveyard and took
some flowers. Someone else had been on Easter and left a
        lily there.

2 Peter 3:8 & 9 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this
one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand
years, and a thousand years as one day. The
Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as
some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward,
not willing that any should perish, but that al
                 should come to repentance.
