Oh my goodness, have I been sick! No more mystery about whether or not Mom had food poisoning. After
persuading Chris’s friends to stay an extra night so they wouldn’t have to drive 250 miles on a dark, rainy night; I
proceeded to entertain them all night with very loud, violent vomiting and dry heaves. I was afraid to stay in my
room with a bucket. I felt much safer sitting on the toilet while I cradled the mop bucket. So instead of driving on a
rainy night, they got to drive in the daylight after getting no sleep. Not to mention the opportunity to be further
exposed to the sickness. So far Chris hasn’t caught it and I hope his friends escape this ailment.
I was far too ill to care for Mom and I was forced to call my sister and ask her to come over. As much as she hates
being exposed to disease, she was a real trooper and came right over to help out. I really just wanted her to feed
Mom, see if she looked like she needed to go to the doctor (and to take her if she did), and crush some pills into
some pudding for her. She decided Mom was okay and she cleaned my kitchen for me, too. She stayed about three
hours and I pray she doesn’t get sick. I really appreciate her coming through for me like she did.
I’m not exactly WELL now, but I am much better. My insides are so sore, it hurts when I laugh. But laughing is
always a good sign, right? I am going to try to get up and take Mom to daycare in the morning, because she is
definitely vegging out here with me paying little attention to her. She seems to have recouped, so we’ll see what
happens tomorrow.
Josh and Leah are spending the week in Orlando. Disney World, Wet and Wild Water Park, Universal Studios, and
more are all giving free passes to military personnel. I think the offer expires soon and they wanted to get in on it.
That is a wonderful opportunity and I think it’s great that these businesses are honoring our military in a
significant way. I believe Josh said they got a 4 day pass to most of the places. Hopefully our men and women who
are in the thick of things will get the opportunity to once again enjoy something like a wild roller coaster ride.
Being in a foreign land fighting must seem very surreal to folks who have led a life of normality in the USA.
Unfortunately, the poor people in Afghanistan have lived with war all their lives. I wonder what they would think
of Disney World?
Mark 2:17 When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the
physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
