While watching the breathtaking sunrise, I thanked God for the endless gifts of beauty with which He constantly
surrounds us. I closed my eyes and listened to the waves smacking the sandy shore. I inhaled the sticky salt air.
Sea gulls flew over and bid me a good morning. As the sun rays glistened over the water, I longed for a friend with a
boat. *smile*

The beach is my favorite place. Not the beach where all the hordes of people congregate. The less populated areas
call my name. Oh, I don’t mind a fisherman or two. Even another family playing in the sand nearby is fine. But I love
the quiet solitude of a deserted beach.

We had a wonderful weekend! I’m so glad I went and I didn’t want to come home!
We drove through Fort Story so I could take Carole to see the Cape Henry Lighthouses. They had beefed up security,
but let us through after seeing everyone’s ID. We walked up to the overlook and enjoyed the view of the beach and
the lighthouses.
We went out to eat at the Fisherman’s Wharf and it was delicious! Yum, yum, seafood buffet! I noticed this
restaurant is first on the list on the Virginia Beach
dining guide.
We went to church and I saw several of my favorite people in the whole world.
Mostly we just relaxed either at the ocean or the bay.
We stopped in Wakefield at The Nuthouse on the way home.

Mom gave them a hard time during respite and she didn’t get a shower all weekend. I wish she wasn’t so contrary,
but I don’t know what I can do about it. She has been in a foul mood since I got back. Now she's started calling me a
specific crude name all the time. She has been getting on my last nerve, but I know she doesn’t feel good.
Tomorrow she goes to daycare, so tomorrow night she’ll probably be happy and we can enjoy each other for a while.

Today brought my monthly Alzheimer’s support group meeting. We have two ladies who have placed their husbands
in facilities recently. They seem to be adjusting, but are terribly lonely at home alone. What a horrible thief
Alzheimer’s is to steal away the last years of a happy marriage. I sure do love the ladies there... so tender and sweet.
I just found out that the Alzheimer’s Memory Walk is THIS Saturday! Now I have no time to get sponsors! Even
though I am a member of the Alzheimer’s Association and attend a support group, not a soul told me. I will donate
my birthday money and go anyway. I’m going to be late, because it starts at 8:30 A. M. and I can’t drop Mom off
‘til 9:00 A.M. Rhonda is going to drop her husband off, too, and we’ll ride together to the walk. It will be a fun, but
sad day.
1 Chronicles 16:32 Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof: let the fields rejoice, and all that is
therein.
